Evaluate Outlined by choosing a few real support tasks, testing them with authorised examples, and recording whether the results meet your requirements. Use the seven-day trial to collect evidence about fit, rather than connect every account and hope value appears.

The trial requires a card and automatically renews at the published Standard subscription unless cancelled. As of 30 October 2026, that price is $279 per month plus applicable tax. Trial overages are unavailable, and WhatsApp messaging has separate wallet charges even during the trial. Confirm the current pricing terms before starting.

Prepare before the trial clock starts

Name an evaluation owner and a daily user. Identify the channel administrator, a small set of approved test contacts, and any Shopify administrator needed. Prepare requirements and a safe sample of representative work.

Choose three success questions: can an agent continue a handoff, can they find relevant order context where available, and can a manager inspect useful customer evidence? Add essential requirements specific to your team. Do not let attractive optional features conceal a missing must-have.

Use this seven-day plan

DayFocusEvidence to keep
1Workspace and one representative channelCorrect account, access and approved test exchange
2Assignment and internal collaborationClear owner, useful note and accepted handoff
3Customer and Shopify context, if relevantCorrect test match, missing-data limits and read-only boundary
4Customer insightsReviewed product or complaint examples
5Team workflowOrdinary-member experience and unresolved-work review
6Cost and remaining gapsQualifying plan, usage assumptions and unresolved requirements
7DecisionPass/fail record and deliberate subscription choice

The schedule is a suggested evaluation structure, not a promise that external approvals or channel onboarding will finish in seven days.

Verify connection and reply behaviour

Connect through Settings using an authorised account owner. Check inbound receipt and a reply to an approved test contact. A successful connection screen alone does not prove both directions work for every required account type.

Review the connection readiness checklist before testing. Avoid changing live routing or disconnecting the current helpdesk until the pilot and fallback are agreed.

Evaluate a complete handoff

Have one authorised teammate open a test request, record the context, and pass it to another. Ask the receiver to identify the customer's need, what has been done, and the next action without oral explanation.

Check access using an ordinary team member. Owner-level success does not prove normal users have the correct visibility. If access is wrong, involve the owner rather than sharing credentials or broadening permissions without a reason.

Inspect insight quality

Use a clear product request, a repeated follow-up, an ambiguous product, and a resolved complaint. Read the original exchange before judging the analysis. Record missing data separately from incorrect interpretation.

Natural-language analytics should be tested with a precise date range, unit, and source scope. A fluent answer is not enough; inspect the explanation and underlying result where available. This is an evaluation exercise, not a guarantee that every possible question is supported.

Record the commercial decision

Estimate users, mailboxes, analysed messages, translations, and WhatsApp activity for normal and busy periods. Confirm owner-controlled extra usage and the renewal date shown in your workspace. Do not assume a trial usage pattern represents a full production month.

Set your own reminder early enough to make a deliberate choice before renewal. Use the available billing controls and support channel if a cancellation or plan detail is unclear; do not wait for the last moment to investigate it.

Finish with a written fit assessment

For each essential requirement, record pass, fail, or unresolved, with evidence and an owner. State the remaining manual work. If external setup blocked testing, mark the requirement unresolved rather than treating absence of evidence as success.

The outcome can be subscribe, investigate a specific gap, or choose another solution. Use the AI-insight validation guide when analysis fidelity is central to your decision. The trial is valuable when it makes that decision clearer, including when the answer is that Outlined does not fit.
